Read on to see our three ways to how to keep your house warm for winter — however long that may be.
Sadly, the little rodent, Punxsutawney Phil, saw his shadow this morning, meaning we’ll be enduring six more weeks of winter around the Indianapolis area. Granted, he doesn’t hold the most accurate record. (That title goes to Staten Island Chuck–with an 80 percent history of success–who predicted we’ll be seeing an early spring.)
But it either case, we still won’t likely be turning off our furnaces and on our air conditioners anytime soon. So here are 3 ways to keep your family warm in and around Central Indiana for the remainder of winter – however long that may be.
You might have to check a few power sources here. First, find your fuse box and make sure no circuits have blown or been tripped. Also, check to make sure your furnace doesn’t require a whole system reset. If it does, follow the instructions on how to do so, and how long to wait. Finally, check to see if your unit is controlled by its own on/off switch, and if that switch has been powered off. (Source)
Check to make sure your furnace pilot light has not extinguished. If it has, located and heed the instructions on how to manually relight the pilot light. And don’t hesitate to call an expert (ahem!) if you’re unable to complete the task or if you feel unsure about doing so. (Source)
Make sure there is nothing sitting on or near your floor vents. Our HVAC professionals have found many things obstructing strong air flow – such as dust, toys, and furniture. By inspecting your air registers, you’ll ensure you’re getting the most amount of warm air into your home. (Source)

Professional. Courteous. Responsive. Just three words I would use to describe my experience with Homesense.
I believe trust is the foundation of a refreshingly different customer experience. Our team goes the extra mile to deliver it every day.
Homesense was by far the most professional, respectful and seasoned HVAC company I have ever worked with. After our first call, we never looked back.
I'm a fan of spectacular - Homesense is changing how the Indianapolis community views HVAC companies. Positive customer relationships and experiences are the cornerstone of their business.
There was a certain confidence and professional casualness about Homesense that made me feel both comfortable and happy with every step of the process.
