National HVAC Tech Day 2021
Today we are celebrating National HVAC Tech Day and showing appreciation for the technicians who work hard day in and day out with Homesense. June 22nd is the perfect day every year to celebrate HVAC technicians as summer gets fully underway.
The important role HVAC technicians play in our modern life
It’s important to take a day to appreciate your local HVAC technicians because they are a vital part in helping us live a modern life. The comfort of central air conditioning is something we can take for granted, until it doesn’t work. These technicians work tirelessly to make sure we continue to have that comfort.
The role of central air in our modern life can’t be overstated. The invention of air conditioning in the early 1900s opened up possibilities previously unavailable. People were able to focus on work and home more as comfort increased inside, especially during summer months. Cities with triple digit temperatures were able to grow in both population and tourism. In general, modern cities (skyscrapers, densely populated buildings, etc.) were able to develop once temperature could be controlled.
Without our HVAC technicians, we wouldn’t have these modern realities.
A day in the life
Another reason to appreciate our HVAC technicians is the (often) difficult conditions they work in to bring our homes comfort. Though a few hours without the right temperature can be hard for us, extreme temperature conditions are just another day at work for them! They are generally working in incredible heat or cold to make sure we don’t have to experience those temperatures.
Many times, technicians also need to go to the places we don’t want to go to in order to serve our equipment. Imagine going in to crawl spaces, attics, and other tight spaces in difficult temperatures. These are all common realities for daily work on HVAC equipment.
Saving green and living green
Finally, the work that HVAC technicians do on your system helps in two other ways. First, they save you money by making sure your system is running as smoothly as possible. This is especially true when you have consistent maintenance done on your system. You’ll notice the difference in your utility bills! Secondly, they help you live a greener lifestyle by helping ensure that you don’t waste energy and reduce your carbon footprint.
