In New Residential Gas Furnaces, Carrier Still the Market Leader

By: Brian Schutt  |  November 21, 2012

In the summer we talked about the fact that since Willis Carrier invented the air conditioner, Carrier has been the leader in innovation in heating and cooling. It should come as no surprise, then, that Carrier leads in market share for new residential gas furnaces. According to a Dept. of Energy report, Carrier more than doubles it’s closest rival in number of units shipped, which was over 1.5 million units in the last year data was collected.

What’s this mean to you as a homeowner? It’s not as simple as bigger is better. What bigger does mean, is that more research and innovation investments can be made, more quality control and oversight in the production process, and increased efficiencies in the supply chain from more distribution means you can get parts and equipment more quickly.

Want some specifics? As new product innovation goes, nothing on the market compares with the Carrier Greenspeed Inverter Heat Pump, which delivers 20 SEER efficiency, estimated to drop utility rates by up to 60%. Pair that with a new Infinity Touch thermostat, and you have the most advanced residential system on the market.

As always, if you have any questions about anything above, we’d love to talk. Call us at 317-203-8149 or tweet us @TrustHomesense.
